New for 2015!!!
First meeting of the ,Arfon
and District Herb Society'. An informal couple of hours undisturbed in
a
lovely cosy, gluten free/ethical cafe. A chance to discuss growing,
gathering, processing, and using herbs for health, well-being and
around the home/ for crafts. Also discuss foraging for herbs and wild
foods, identifying wild plants and exploring the hedgerows and lanes.
We will meet for 2PM. Whip-round for contributions for the room, and
lovely food and drinks available at very reasonable prices. A very
welcome to all who are interested.
8th March, 2PM. ,Follow Your Bliss' Cafe, 47, High St., Bangor.
The Arfon & District Herb Society is a fledgling group; the
idea behind starting the group is to give anyone who is interested in
gathering, growing, processing or using Herbs a place to come together
regularly, and informally to discuss and share their passion for
medicinal plants. The group is aimed at all levels of interest,
qualification, and ability, from those just starting out who may have a
couple of pots of herbs on their kitchen windowsill, to practicing
medical herbalists and everyone in-between. 8th March, 2PM. ,Follow Your Bliss' Cafe, 47, High St., Bangor.
We will discuss (amongst other things): The turning of the year, and what's about in the hedgerows/foraging, share our successes (and maybe failures) at growing medicinal plants/gardening tips and ideas. Seed and plant swap. Discuss processing herbs into teas, medicines and cosmetics/household products at home and share our successes and ideas. If anyone has any thoughts about the medicinal use of herbs please share them. As I am a qualified Medical Herbalist, I can contribute sound (but brief - it's no place for a consultation) advice on the medical use of herbs..
Share skills, Meet people, share our interest in herbs and promote/grow awareness in the local area.
Contact me for more information about the society; there is also a Facebook Event set up for the first meeting (8th March).
